Is there such a thing...

...as grief-induced bipolar disorder? Not.even.kidding. This is a real question.

  1. I suppose if you were pre-disposed to having it then the stress could act as a trigger. If you're worried then I think you should probably talk to your doctor or a therapist about it.

  2. I was a mental health counselor before a stay at home mom, and I don't think there is such a thing. I didn't specialize in grief, but there is certainly an ebb and flow to this. Definite ups and downs. But, trauma can bring on mental illnesses. Like when children are abused/neglected, they often develop mental disorders as teens or adults. That's a HUGE generalization, but I've seen it a lot in cases I've had. I think this trauma that we've all experienced could lead to other issues. I know that mine has triggered panic attacks and just general anxiety. (((hugs)))
