Gothise? Should I go private?

When I check my stats, why are so many people reading my blog from a site called Gothise? If you are here from that site, could you tell me how you found my blog? Is there a link on that site to this blog, and if so, who is sharing it? I am not on Gothise, so I am really confused. Please if you have any insights share them here. I will make my blog private if I feel it is being shared inappropriately.

  1. I have similar things happen, but not from that site. It's confusing. I won't go private because as much as I would love to hide and scream to just you BLMs, people who aren't BLMs need to hear it more.

  2. I agree w/the above cooment. I too have some reading my blog that I don't care for but the good far outweighs the bad. I considered going private but I realize I wouldn't be able to connect with as many people then, both BLM's & others. I can relate with a lot of what you share, thank you for your honesty.

  3. What is Gothise? It is showing up in my sitemeter a lot too. I think those things show up to bait you into joining. My thoughts.

  4. Angie it seems to be some gothic networking site...Which for me is hiLARious, because I used to be pretty goth myself...And now I laugh about that. To remember how I paraded around wearing black lipstick and chains, writing depressing poetry that got me sent to the guidance counselor's office on more than one occasion because people thought I might "off" myself... And now, you'd look at me and never guess that I had purple hair and suicide bangs, but I did. You'd never think I wore knee high combat boots and studded wristbands to school, but I did. The irony is that I never really had a REASON to be so dark and drawn to the morbid, but now? Now, I do. I wonder if all my life I was depressed just waiting for my tragedy to strike or something. (I know that's ridiculous.) Like God looked down at my 15 yr old self and said, "You dummy. Just you wait. Wait till yer 28 yrs old. Then I'll REALLY give you somethin' ta cry about!"

  5. HA, that is exactly me too, except the purple bangs. More like shaved head, pierced everything. Oy. I wore combat boots to a meeting tonight, and I came home and realized they looked slightly clownish. Maybe our blogs are just on there from another grieving mama. i wouldn't stress about it unless the trolls come out. (I've never really had a troll, though, knock on wood.)

  6. I'm glad you posted this because I was like who the hell is reading my blog from a goth website? Seems this site is buggering a bunch of us and like you I sort of found it funny unless they start to use it for the wrong reasons.

  7. According to the writers over at For The Love of Blogs this is a scam in an attempt to get new people to subscribe to their social networking site. Here's the link to the post for more info. http://forblogs.blogspot.com/2011/08/spamhackers-information-post.html

  9. gothise is not a place full of spammers. we are just people that chat about music an stuff. just like facebook myspace an all the networking sites :s dont know why yous are so pissed about the site.

  10. I don't get the sense that anyone is pissed about the site. It's more that the nature of our blogs is bereavement and child loss. We expect those with losses to be reading and to gain access to our blogs through resources for bereaved parents. So when we see Gothise come up in our stats of who's reading, it leaves us wondering why on a site where people chat about music and stuff, as you said, would people be getting access to child loss blogs??? It doesn't make any sense. As a previous poster explained, it seems they are trying to get traffic to their site this way, which is the only possibility that makes sense to me.
